We are slowly, stubbornly building a different kind of UK metal detecting blog – and we cannot do it alone. The Daily Dig is looking for people who are fun, friendly, sharp-minded and at least vaguely house-trained. Good-looking is optional; good-looking finds are not.
If you care more about history than hype, more about context than clicks, and you secretly enjoy writing or storytelling, we probably want you on our side.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You do not need to be all of these, but if a few ring uncomfortably true, you are our kind of strange:
You can be:
You do not need to be a professional writer. You just need to care, listen, and be willing to improve.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING
Depending on your interests, you might:
We will help you edit, polish, and sharpen your voice. The goal is not perfection; the goal is honest, intelligent content that respects the history and the land.
WHAT THIS IS (AND ISN’T)
This is:
This is not:
THE KIND OF PEOPLE WHO FIT
You will probably enjoy being part of The Daily Dig if you:
A sense of humour is strongly encouraged. We take history seriously, not ourselves.
WHAT YOU GET OUT OF IT
And, frankly, the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping to pull the average intelligence of metal detecting content online up by several notches.
HOW TO PUT YOUR HAND UP
If you are curious about joining the team:
It does not have to be perfect. We are much more interested in your voice, your attitude and your respect for the hobby than your grammar.
IN SHORT
We are not building a fan club. We are building a small, sharp, slightly mischievous editorial crew who care about:
If that sounds like you – fun, friendly, thoughtful, and at least one of you or your finds is good looking – get in touch.
Come help us prove that metal detecting content can be better than shouty thumbnails and staged “shock” reactions.
Come dig with us, on the page as well as in the field. Interested? email Hello@thedailydig.co.uk
