THE DAILY DIG IS LIVE: WELCOME TO THE NEW SITE
Welcome in. Whether you have followed along for a while or have only just stumbled in, this is the new home of The Daily Dig.
I built this site because social feeds are not built for context. Good stories get buried, research gets lost, and everything turns into a quick hit. That is not what I want for this hobby, or for the history sitting under our boots.
Here, you can expect:
- Proper, story-led write-ups of finds (including the scrappy ones)
- Clear, honest identification and research, with sources where it matters
- Practical UK detecting guidance that improves your results without the fantasy
- A firm stance on ethics: permission, tidy recovery, and reporting done properly
This is not a “look what I found” highlight reel. It is a record of time in the ground, and the people who once lived above it.
If you are new, start with the latest Finds and Stories. If you are here for the how-to, head for the Guides. Either way, check back regularly. New posts will land as I dig, research, and write them up.
Thanks for being here. Now get out there, swing slow, cut neat plugs, and fill your holes!
